The Scrapbook Store DT - Dream Big

Hi all.

This month at The Scrapbook Store I am thrilled to be playing with the stunning 7 Dots Studio Northern Lights collection.

'Dream Big'

I swiped some gesso across that gorgeous background paper before flicking on a little Jane Davenport Fairy Floss Inkredible Ink.

I layered on some tags and die cuts from the range before adding some messy embroidery thread and my photo.

All of the beautiful chipboard pieces are by The Dusty Attic and I have coloured them white using a Posca Paint Pen.
I finished off with a scattering of sweet sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as well as a flower and some quote stickers from the collection.

The Dusty Attic DT - Love Your Smile

Hello Dusty Attic fans!

Today I am sharing my take on the fabulous April mood board at The Dusty Attic.

'Love Your Smile'

For my layout I searched through my photo stash and came across this photo I snapped of my son in his new pyjamas. That photo just wanted to be paired with the BRAND NEW RELEASE Physics Symbols chipboard pieces. I LOVE these new chippies! They remind me of 'The Big Bang Theory' which is one of our favourite shows.

I wanted to create a little bit of a starry night sky in the background so I gave my white cardstock a thin coat of clear gesso before scribbling a blue Faber-Castell Gelato over the top. I spritzed some water over the top and then used a soft, wet paintbrush to blend and spread the colour.

Once dry, I placed the Keyboard Jumble Stencil over the top and swiped some texture paste over it. When that was completely dry, I used a white Posca Paint Pen to colour over some of the numbers/symbols to make them a crisper white.

And because I am all for 'fuss-free' altering of my chipboard, I also used Posca Paint Pens in a bright yellow and blue to colour the chipboard pieces. Paint pens are such an easy way to colour chipboard and you don't have to wash any brushes! That is my favourite part!!

I coloured the title and the page tab with a white paint pen. Too easy!

Flutterby Designs DT - Hello Summer

Hello hello!

Today I have a layout to share for Flutterby Designs created with the totally fabulous Good Vibes Only collection.

'Hello Summer'

This layout was completely inspired by my son's awesome pineapple skull t-shirt so of course I had to start with the brilliant Knucklehead stencil. This would have to be my favourite stencil ever so I use it at every opportunity. I simply swiped some texture paste over it and let it dry.

Next I stapled on some layers of Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards and topped with a Photo Card from the range as well as my photo.

Then I layered on as many embellishments as I could fit because the embellies in this collection are so cool!!

I liked the 'one of a kind' quote from the Cool Snippet Strips because my darling son really is. It also gave me the idea to turn one of the texture paste skulls into a one of a kind so I doodled around it with black pen to match the skull on my son's t-shirt. The sunglasses come from the Good Vibes Only Sticky Quick Quotes sheet and just fit the skull perfectly.

Here's what I used:

- Washi Tape

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today peeps. I hope you are feeling inspired now to have a play with your own stash of Flutterby goodies. Make sure you share your beautiful projects in the Inspiration HQ Facebook Group so we can leave some love.

Cheers

The Dusty Attic DT - April Layouts

Hello Dusty Attic fans!

Today I am sharing two layouts I created featuring the fabulous BRAND NEW school themed chippies. These chipboard pieces are just perfect for school photos and believe it or not this is the first time in EIGHT years I have ever scrapped a school photo. It seems I have some catching up to do! Lucky I now have the most perfect embellishments to use on my long overdue layouts.

'School Photo'

Oh my!! Such a cute photo of my darling daughter and sweet son! I chose a colour theme for my layout to match their school uniform of light and dark blue. I began by swiping some Oceania Dusty in Colour Paint across my background using a silicone brush.

I then stamped the word 'click' from the Darkroom Door Photography stamp set several times from top to bottom.

I coloured the BRAND NEW Rulers chipboard pieces as well as the mini numbers using a white Posca Paint Pen. It took about three coats to get a lovely crisp white.

I took the word 'school' from the BRAND NEW Word Pack # 42 and painted it with the Oceania Paint.

I slipped a cute Mini Tab in above my photo that I had also painted using the white Posca Pen.

I used the Typewriter ABC Set to add in the word 'Photo' after painting it with Denim Dusty In Colour Paint.

'Library'

For this layout I stuck to the same colour scheme also to match my daughter's school uniform colours. This is her very first school photo! She looks so little and cute and nervous for her first photo.

To create the background for this layout, I first added a thin coat of clear gesso to my background cardstock. Once dry, I spritzed the background with water and added diluted Oceania paint. I also flicked some of the diluted Oceania paint as well as some Denim paint over the background and allowed to dry. I used my white Posca Paint Pen to add some flicks of white also.

All of the fabulous white chipboard pieces were coloured with that same paint pen.

I used the white Posca Pen as well as one in aqua to colour the cute book stack chipboard and finished with a little Denim paint for the leaf on top of the apple.

How cute are those chipboard paper clips?!! I love them so much.

I coloured the adorable little chipboard pencils with the white paint pen again and then added the aqua one on top. I left the 'wood' part of the pencil raw.

The ruler and the ABC 123 Border were painted with the same Dusty in Colour paints as used on the background.
