Hello!!
Welcome to the Karen Burniston and Darkroom Door Blog Hop!
Today I have 4 fun and fabulous cards to share combining Karen Burniston dies with Darkroom Door stamps. I had the absolute pleasure of working with the oh so sweet Princess and Mermaid and Nature Edges dies as well as a whole heap of awesome Darkroom Door stamps and stencils and they all worked perfectly together.
First up is a super layered and dimensional card where I have combined the Mermaid and Princess and Nature Edges dies with some seaside themed stamps from Darkroom Door to create a whimsical ocean themed card.
"Hello" Card
It was so fun creating all of these layers and adding some stamping in between using Darkroom Door Texture Stamps.
How cute are the little mermaids bobbing up between the 'ocean wave' layers? Super cute!
I drew in the sweet little faces using a fine waterproof black journalling pen, Faber-Castell Connector Pens and a fine white Posca Paint Pen.
I fussy cut some stamped sea grasses, a shell, starfish and stars and added along with some white sequins.
Here's what I used:
"Yay!" Card
For this card I needed to take the whimsy one step further and have my mermaid riding a fish! Why not right?
The fish from the 'Under The Sea' Rubber Stamp Set was the perfect size for a cute little mermaid. I created some reins for her to hold onto and added a sweet glittery crown on the fish. I added a little detail to the mermaid's tail using a fine white Posca Paint Pen. I also used the fabulous Polka Dots Small Stencil with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide to create fun bubbles in the background.
Here's what I used:
And now for the 'princess' cards!
I decided to turn my princesses into fairies by stamping butterfly wings and adding to the back of them.
"Wish" Card
I created a sweet garden scene on this card using the Sunshine Small Stencil from Darkroom Door and the grassy edge from the Nature Edges die set. I used the stamp kissing technique on the fabulous Carved Flowers to add some pattern to them. I added Viridian Archival Ink to the Carved Flower stamp and Paradise Teal to the Marbling Texture Stamp and then kissed the stamps together before stamping the flower onto smooth white cardstock.
I fussy cut the flowers and added to the card. Then I added the fairy using 3D foam as well as some fussy cut stamped stars. I die cut a whole heap of wands and then removed the stick to create glittery silver stars to add to the card.
Here's what I used:
Hero Arts Ombre Ink Mint Julep to Emerald Green
And finally my last card was created in the same way as the previous card but using a shades of pink colour combination and different flower stamps.
"Happy" Card
Here's what I used:
I hope you have enjoyed the projects I created and you are inspired to create your own whimsical cards using these awesome products.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Make sure you follow the hop to sheck out all of the wonderful inspiration.
