The Dusty Attic DT - The Good Life

Hello!

Today I have a layout to share for The Dusty Attic inspired by the gorgeous November Mood Board.

'The Good Life'

Here's a little peek at the stunning mood board this month.

I started this layout by squirting some Dusty in Colour Paints in Cranberry, Lavender Blush and Sugar Plum over my background.

Then I used a palette knife to spread the paint mixing it as I went. I diluted some more of the paint in a palette with water and flicked some droplets over the layout too.

I added some stencilling using the Chicken Wire Stencil and the Lavender Blush paint as well as some random stamping.

I painted the chipboard frame, trellis and floral pieces with the same paints. The mini stars and captions were coloured with a white paint pen.

Flutterby Designs DT - Love

Hello Flutterby peeps!!

Today I am sharing my first layout featuring the stunning brand new range 'We Are' for Flutterby Designs.

I have chosen to work with a soft palette from the range including pinks and woodgrain for a pretty combination. There are some amazing brights in the collection too that I am looking forward to playing with for my next layout.

I started this layout by adding some subtle stencilling using the 'All You Need Is Love' Stencil and heavy white gesso to the pretty pink 'Unconditional' patterned paper. Once dry, I diluted some Raspberry Punch Flutter Colour Paint with water and flicked over the background.

Next I added the 'Confetti Circles' and 'Wheels' Wood Veneer pieces to the page. I glued the white outline onto the woodgrain 'Love' title from the 'We Are' Die Cut Title Set and then fussy cut. I attached the die cut title to the brick wall filler card from the 'We Are' Everyday Etc Cards and then layered on some small pieces cut from the Filler Cards.

Next I added the photo using 3D foam and slipped in a 'We Are' Page Tab as well as the lovely frame from the 'We Are' Die Cut Bits & Bobs.

I added a few fun embellishments on the right hand side of my photo including a 'We Are' Flair Button and a 'Word Speech Bubbles' Wood Veneer. I chopped up a quote from the 'We Are' Everyday Etc Cards and added that along with some words cut from the 'Tropical' Snippet Strips. Finally I added a sweet sprinkling of enamel dots from the Bold Enamel Dots Set.

I feel totally inspired by this gorgeous collection and I can't wait to get stuck into my next layout.

Thank you for stopping by the blog. I hope you are feeling inspired to play with your Flutterby Designs stash too.

Cheers
Belinda

The Dusty Attic DT - Note To Self

Hello!!

Today I am sharing my altered notebook for Notebook November at The Dusty Attic.

Even though I don't create 'off the page' too often I found this to be such a fun project to create. I even used the November Mood Board as inspiration for my notebook.

To start my notebook cover I went on a treasure hunt through my stash of patterned papers until something jumped out at me. I found the cutest paper with a bicycle image that suited the colours perfectly.

I used a matte gel medium to attach the paper to the cover, swiping some over the top of the paper too. Next I grabbed the closest paint palette and swiped some Dusty In Colour Paint in Cranberry, Lavender Blush and Sugar Plum around the edges of the paper.

Once the paint was dry, I used some heavy white gesso to add some stenciling. I wanted a lovely subtle effect with the stenciling. For more impact though you could add an outline to the words using a fine pen.

Next I used the same paint and gesso to colour the various chipboard pieces. I glued these pieces onto the front of the notebook along with some flowers and leaves. To finish I used a white paint pen to flick some white droplets over the cover.
