SBT50 Feb Challenge - Happy Dog

Hello!!

Today I am sharing a layout that I created for Charm's Creations and Flutterby Designs for the Scrapbooking Top 50 February Challenge.

I have used the brand new Fur-Ever Friends collection from FLUTTERBY DESIGNS as well as 2 fabulous DIY embellishments from CHARM'S CREATIONS.

'Happy Dog' Layout

I love a good sketch! Who doesn't right? It makes it so easy to create a layout without having to think too hard about the design.

I followed my usual formula for creating my layouts: stencil ✓ texture paste ✓ water spritzing ✓ diluted paint applied in a watercoloury (I know it's not even a word) fashion ✓ layer upon layer of stuff ✓ a scattering of embellishments ✓.

Hey when the formula works, you might as well stick to it! LOL

I coloured my Charm's Creations DIY embellishments with some awesome new Flutter Colour paints that I diluted to a watercolour consistency.

I cut some pennants from the Flutterby Designs Fur-Ever Friends filler photo cards and snuck in there underthe photo. I purposely chose a small photo so I could stick it inside that oh so cute wood veneer frame.

Here's what I used:

***Please note: the tiny little wood veneer hearts are NON Flutterby randoms***

The Scrapbook Store DT - ScrapBerry's Mechanical Illusions 1

Hello!!

Today I have a layout to share for THE SCRAPBOOK STORE featuring the fun and quirky ScrapBerry's Mechanical Illusions range.

'Kids' Layout

I decided to go for a beach photo for this layout because I liked the image of the skeleton fish on the patterned papaer. The colours are not what I would usually use for a beach themed layout but I think it works. Because of the fish and the shell and seaweed images that are partially covered by my photo.

Here's what I used:

- Bloody Farm Words
- Flies
Golden Light Molding Paste
Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Tinsel

embroidery thread

Flutterby Designs DT - Finn

Hello!!

Today I have a layout to share for FLUTTERBY DESIGNS featuring the brand new Fur-Ever Friends collection. This time I have created a 'dog' layout. :-)

I am lucky enough to be owned by three dogs but my little guy is just possibly the happiest, most fun dog in the world. I think this collection represents his personality just perfectly.

I started by swiping some texture paste over the "Mmm Pie" Mini Stencil before drying with a heat gun.. Then I diluted the  Raspberry Punch Flutter Colour paint with some water, spritz my page with water and then painted on a wash of the colour using a large, soft paintbrush. I spritzed with a bit more water, blotted with scrunched up paper towel and then dried with a heat gun. I diluted a little of the Orange Goldfish paint also and flicked that over the background.

Next I had some fun cropping, shuffling around and layering some of the photo cards until I had my design right. A quick staple held them all in place so I could add easily to my layout.

Then it was a matter of adding my photo, title and scattering embellishments across my layout.

Here's what I used:

Thanks for checking out my layout today.

Flutterby Designs DT - Hello Stalker

***NOTE: This post contains the 'f' word. If you are offended by the use of this word, then please feel free to not look at this post***

Hello!!

This month at FLUTTERBY DESIGNS I am playing with the BRAND NEW release FUR-EVER FRIENDS.

It is such a fun and funky range for scrapping cute photos of your pets.

I started with a 'not' so cute photo of my beautiful cat Noodle. She was stalking me and being completely feral when I snapped this photo of her giving me stink eye through the hole in her activity centre.

I used the brand new release colours in the Flutter Colour range on this layout. Check out how beautifully bright they are on the dark background!! And that is after I watered them down for a more watercolour effect. Pretty cool huh?

I created a wash of colour over my background and then splattered a lot of colour over it too using a soft wet paintbrush.

Then I added a little detail with the gorgeous NEW Shake Your Tail Feather Stencil and some molding paste.

Next I layered on my cropped photo cards, photo, embellishments and title. And there is the 'Hello' from the 'Hello Love' Wood Veneer that I cut in half. I couldn't resist using the cheeky quote cut from the photo cards too.

Here's what I used:

FUR-EVER FRIENDS:

- Orange Goldfish
- Raspberry Punch
- Sunshine Yellow

I hope you love this collection as much as I do and feel inspired to scrap your own furry friends.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Flutterby Designs DT - Crazy Together

Hello!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created for FLUTTERBY DESIGNS using the fabulous Mad About You collection.

'Crazy Together' Layout

For this layout, I was totally inspired by one of Anita's filler cards which is the one directly under my photo. It is a book paper one with lovely big circles of bright pink, blue and green. This was my inspiration for my background.

I started by spritzing my background with water before spraying on Kaisermists in Pink, Lime Green and Aqua. I added more water to make lovely pools of colour on my layout. After drying with a heat gun, I then used Golden Light Molding Paste with the I {heart} you mini stencil to add another layer of interest to my background.

I love this photo of my hubby and kids being their crazy selves for the photo. I printed it off in black and white so that it wouldn't compete with my technicolour layout and so that it would stand out from it.

I have layered several filler cards from the Mad About You range underneath and added some crazy embroidery thread in matching colours too.  We are huge The Big Bang Theory fans so of course I had to use that fabulous flair button!

Here's what I used:
