Something Just For Me

Hi all!!

 

Believe it or not, I got myself a little caught up and slightly organized for the start of the year. Ahead on all of my DT stuff!! So not like me at all!! As a result, I have had the chance to play along with an awesome challenge over at Lulu Art called Colour Me Positive.

 

 

 

I am having an absolute ball, playing with all different sorts of mediums and exploring art journalling. The prompts have been so inspiring and fun. So far I am keeping up with the weekly prompts. I hope it continues. It's my reward for being organized.

Kaisercraft DT - Old Mac

Hello...hello...hello...hello...hellooo

 

I think there's an echo in here.

 

Today I have some projects to share featuring the brand new Old Mac Collection by KAISERCRAFT.

 

 

 

Old Mac is the most wonderful rustic farm style collection which is perfect for me as I live on a farm!! There is something for everyone from the gorgeous denim patterned paper to my personal favourite; the cowhide paper as well as heaps of cute animal die cuts in the Collectables.

 

“Today” Layout

 

I love this photo of my son playing in the dirt. He had seen Bear Grylls on tv and was practising his survival fire making skills with a couple of twigs. How perfect is the photo for the fabulous ‘dirt’ patterned paper?

 

I tore the barbed wire sticker from the sticker sheet into pieces and added that as a repetitive detail on my layout. Here’s a closer look.

“Be Happy” Layout

 

 

I chose this photo of my daughter feeding one of our fallow deer because her parka matched that lovely denim patterned paper perfectly! I started with a kraft cardstock base and added torn patterned paper strips at the top and bottom of the page. I created a watercolour effect with Kaisermists in Antique Gold and Olive in the centre before layering on squares of patterned paper from the Paper Pad.

 

 

How cute are the gum nuts and leaves using the Gum Nuts Decorative Die? I also used a decorative die to cut my title from kraft cardstock for a subtle look against the background.

Charm's Creations DT - Catch-up

HI!

 

 

I have a handful of layouts I created for CHARM'S CREATIONS that I haven't blogged yet because I am a slack blogger!! LOL

 

So today is the day to catch-up. :-)

"Capture Happy" Layout

 

 

I used the stunning mood board from the Dec/Jan Challenge Two as inspiration for this layout.

 

 

Wondering where the actual Charm's Creations are on my layout??

 

 

There they are!! Two sweet flag banners. I admit that I got a little carried away with arranging and layering my cluster of embellishments and they kind of got a little bit hidden. I did a nice job of altering them too with Kaisermist and water. :-)

 

 

I used some lovely IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS CHIPBOARD on here too. And all of the papers and embellishments are by Cocoa Vanilla.

"Seriously" Layout

 

 

More Cocoa Vanilla loveliness on this layout which co-ordinated perfectly with the Charm's Creations White, Denim and Stripe Map Marker which you can find HERE in the shop.

Charm's Creations DT - Jot Mood Board January

Popping in today to share a layout I created for CHARM'S CREATIONS using the stunning January Mood Board from Jot Magazine.

 

Here's a peek at the mood board.

 

 

I just LOVE the colours!

 

Here's what I created.

 

 

The floral design in the mood board inspired my choice of Crate Paper background paper.

 

I was dying to use the gorgeous deer button lollipop from CHARM'S CREATIONS so chose to scrap a photo of one of our fawns.

I liked the cute little hessian bags in the picture too so I chose a burlap flower to add to my layout and tied a twine bow on my shipping tag to match the twine tied around the little bags.

 

 

All of the chipboard pieces are by IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS and I have used them in their raw state to co-ordinate with the natural textures in the inspiration.

 

I recycled some gorgeous handmade wrapping paper and added that in behind my photo too.

Hi all!!

 

Today I am sharing my creations for KAISERCRAFT featuring the fun and funky # Me Collection.

 

 

 

This is such a fun collection with a combination of pretty florals, fun and funky icons and lots of inspirational quotes.

 

‘I Am Me’ Layout

 

 

I have gone for a grungy style on this layout, using the fabulous Notes Die Cut Specialty Paper, some Charcoal Kaisermist and lots of stamping with the super fun clear stamps that come with this collection.

I layered squares of patterned papers from the paper pad under my photo. The paper pads are perfect for this technique.

“Journal Planner – March”

 

For my final project I wanted to keep up to date with decorating my Journal Planner.

And what better month than my birthday month to use the # me collection?? Well that just turned out to be perfect timing for me. :-)

 

 

 

 

Did you spy the colouring page I included in my planner? I cut that from my Kaisercraft Free Spirit Colouring Book.

 

 

I did have to sacrifice the pretty illustration on the other side but I think it was worth it to add a lovely colouring page to my journal. :-)
