My Darling Boy

Hello!!

I am running late with blogging this layout and have missed the deadline for the Scrap The Boys August Challenge but I thought I would share it anyway. :-)

Remember the challenge?

Here's a peek.

As soon as I saw the mason jar in the inspiration challenge I knew that I would be using the most awesome BRAND NEW Mason Jar Frame Stamp from DARKROOM DOOR. I think it is my very favourite stamp from the latest release and I am so lucky to be able to play with it.

I created a lovely textured background before adding mist and water for a watercolour effect. I painted my mason jar in the same colour mist.

I added some stamping to my background using the DARKROOM DOOR Hello Baby Vol. 2 Rubber Stamp Set.

I used a fabulous CHARM'S CREATIONS DIY Heart that I experimented on with a different technique. I first coloured the heart using the same mist as the background of my layout. Once completely dry, I applied Prima 3D Gloss Gel to the heart using a paintbrush. I layered some Typo text tissue paper over the top and coated with some more of the Gloss Gel. I then set it aside to dry completely. When it was dry I removed the excess tissue paper by drawing around the outline of the heart with wet paintbrush. This helps to tear the paper away. I really love the way it turned out and I'm pretty sure I will be using this technique again.

Here's a look at how the DIY Mini Heart started out.

You can find them over HERE in Charm's shop.

All of the chipboard on this layout is by IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS. I painted the chevrons with white gesso and the stars with Brushed Pewter Distress Stain.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Kaisercraft DT - This Special Moment

Hello!!

I am back again today to share a layout I created for KAISERCRAFT using a gorgeous specialty paper from the TIME MACHINE COLLECTION.

Check out this awesome Gloss Specialty Paper.

(Please note: The gloss pattern on this paper is actually the same colour as the background but has been changed to black in the photo so that you can see the pattern.)

I absolutely LOVED working with this specialty paper as the gloss pattern works as a resist. Awesome!!

Here's what I created.

I flooded my specialty paper with Turquoise Kaisermist (my absolute favourite colour!!) and spritzed on some water too. I blotted a little with paper towel, flicked some more water at it and splashed on a little more colour until I got it looking just how I wanted. I love the experimenting with this technique and you never know what the end result will be.

Here's a few close-ups.

The TIME MACHINE COLLECTION is such a fabulous and versatile range. Here I have used it for a sweet baby layout featuring a photo of my darling son just after he was born. It can also suit a more grungy masculine layout. Keep an eye out for my big blog post on the 27th of this month. I have created even more layouts because I just could not stop playing with it. :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Magic

Hello!!

Today I am sharing a layout I created for CHARM'S CREATIONS using the stunning JOT MAGAZINE Mood Board for August.

Check out this gorgeous inspiration.

Here's what I created.

I used a CHARM'S CREATIONS DIY Chevron and Map Marker and altered them with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains. I created a watercolour effect on my background white cardstock by absolutely flooding it with Distress Spray Stains and water. Rather than use paper towel to soak up the excess I simply laid my DIY embellishments face down in the puddles and let them soak up the colour. I used a combination of Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough, Broken China and Brushed Pewter. Once my background was dry, I layered a Websters Pages acetate overlay over the top before adding the rest of the layers.

Take a closer look at the CHARM'S CREATIONS embellishments.

You can find the DIY embellishments over HERE in the shop.

Check out the range.

Oh and did you see the challenge for August?

Easy right?

I have also used some amazing new release chipboard  from IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my creation.

I will be back tomorrow with a KAISERCRAFT share.

Cheers

Wild Child

Hello hello!!

Today I have a layout to share that I created for CHARMS CREATIONS using a gorgeous Butterfly Heavenly Heart.

I just loved that cheetah print butterfly and knew that it would suit this photo of Hayley trying on my sunglasses. It inspired me to go wild with animal print from the Kaisercraft Into The Wild Collection on my layout too.

Oh and Charm has an awesome challenge for August. Check this out...

Make sure you head over to the SHOP and grab yourself some DIY embellishments for this challenge. I hope to see your creation soon.

Kraft Plus Sandy Toes

Hi all!!

Have you had a chance to check out the awesome August Challenge at KRAFT PLUS CHALLENGES yet?

Have a look at this!

Kraft plus zentangle doodling!! Cool huh?

I will admit that I procrastinated about this one for a little (big) while. I had never zentangled before and wasn't sure where to start. So to make things easier for me I used a cloud stencil. Once I had traced the clouds onto kraft cardstock with a black Posca Pen, I then doodled inside the clouds. I knew I was going to do a beach layout so I tried to give my doodles a seaside theme.

Here's what I created.

Once I had put my layout together the zentangled clouds were too dark and stood out too much so I added some stamped seashells from the Darkroom Door Seaside Rubber Stamp Collection.

I used papers from the Kaisercraft Sandy Toes Collection and since I have so much trouble coming up with titles for my layouts I figured I would 'borrow' Sandy Toes!!

I hope you get a chance to play along with this super fun challenge this month. Make sure you head over to the BLOG to check out all of the inspiration from the uber talented design team and then get doodling!! :-)

Cheers

Gold Gold Gold

Hi all!!

Today I have a layout to share that I created for KAISERCRAFT using their brand new stunning A TOUCH OF GOLD Collection.

There are so many gorgeous gold accents in this collection. So perfect for invitations and cards as well as layouts.

For my layout I used the beautiful Die Cut Gold Doilie Foil Specialty paper.

I fussy cut my title from the Christmas Words Foil Specialty Paper.

Here is what I created.

I used the Antique Gold Kaisermist on my background patterned paper before layering over the gold doilie. I added a circle of patterned paper in the centre of the doilie and then added my photo and a scattering of die cut and fussy cut elements across the page.

Kaisercraft materials: PS420 Doilie Specialty Paper | PS423 Christmas Words Specialty Paper | P1901 Deluxe | P1907 Classy | PP976 Paper Pad | CS234 Clear Stamps | SB710 Rhinestones Orange | KM102 Kaisermist Antique Gold | IP719 Ink Pad Black | IP728 Ink Pad Saffron.
Other: Sequins | ink.

Make sure you head over to the KAISERCRAFT BLOG to check out what the rest of the design team created with this collection. So much inspiration!
