The Scrapbook Store DT - Sweet Memories

Hello hello!!

Boy am I running late with my blog posts!

Today I am sharing the first of five layouts for The Scrapbook Store in a mad attempt at catching up on my blogging! I have been a very bad blogger. I blame the weather. I hate hot weather and the summer is dragging on and on and on with no rain in sight. The cattle need a lot of extra feeds of hay, brown snakes are around, our stock plants are requiring a lot of watering and we need to get water trucked in for a second time this season. Bugger off already summer and gives us autumn and rain!! Anyway, enough whinging already. LOL

I was thrilled to be playing with the new stunning Simple Stories I Am collection for the month. It is the most beautiful range with gorgeous elements.

Now just before I started working with this collection my heat gun died. So for something different I tried non mixed media backgrounds! Mostly because I am super impatient and I could not bring myself to wait for things to dry. So for this layout I simply used the roller stamp in the range and stamped all over the background in co-ordinating inks. I really liked how quick this was! Might even do it again.

I added a sweet chipboard title by The Dusty Attic that I coloured with a white Sharpie Paint Pen. This is another quick, mess-free way of altering chipboard and my preferred option. Who has time to clean paint brushes. Not me!! And because we have a septic system here I cannot wash my paint brushes inside. So it's a hassle to go outside to wash them making sure I don't drop any because my jack russell would be off like a shot with them!! Little bugger.

Here's what I used:
- Roller Stamp
49 & MARKET Floral Mixology Cosmopolitan
- Broken China
- Wild Honey
- Worn Lipstick

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Kraft Plus DT - Something Old Something New

Hello!

Today I am sharing my take on the fabulous new April challenge at Kraft Plus Challenges.

It's a recipe challenge based on kraft!! So cool.

Here's what I used for the recipe.

Something old = Melissa Frances resin flower that has been in my stash for a very long time.
Something new = Carpe Diem Roller Stamp from the Simple Stories I Am collection (It's the 'so happy' stamped on the background with white ink.
Something borrowed = blue gel pen borrowed from my daughter to add some journalling. (This had me stumped for a while until I need a pen for journalling and my daughter just happened to have the exact colour I needed.)
Something blue = Cocoa Vanilla Studios blue patterned papers and chipboard frame as well as a tiny blue rose.

I do hope you will get a chance to play along with this super fun challenge. You can check out all of the details and inspiration over HERE.

Make sure you share your beautiful work with us in the Kraft Plus Challenges Facebook Group so we can leave some love.

Cheers

Flutterby Designs DT - My Sunshine

Hello Flutterby lovelies!

I am back today to share my first layout for April for Flutterby Designs featuring the fabulous new Good Vibes Only collection.

'My Sunshine' Layout

I used the 'Good Vibes Only' 12 x 12 patterned paper for the base of my layout and added a few squirts of Flutter Colour paint in Orange Goldfish and Sunshine Yellow. I then swiped it across the paper using a Prima Silicone Brush and set a side to dry.

Once the paint was dry, I diluted some Green Limousine paint with a little water and flicked it over the layout.

My daughter just so happened to be wearing her pineapple dress to the zoo on Easter Sunday. Alright I made her wear it so I would have a photo for my layout. I didn't have to twist her arm too much though as she wanted to wear it. LOL

Anyway I chose as many pineapple inspired bits from the collection as I could starting with the photo cards and filler photo cards. I cut them to size and added across my background.

I mounted the photo on white cardstock first and then a strip of the Ray of Sunshine 12 x 12 patterned paper.

I just love the wood veneer bits in this range!! So I added some of those across the layout including the 'sunshine' title. How cute are those leaves?!!
I cut the pineapple die cut from white cardstock using a Kaisercraft die and slipped that under the right hand side of the photo. I then added the cute cluster of embellishments.

I finished with a couple of page tabs from the collection. The page tabs have to be one of my very favourite Flutterby Designs elements.

Here's what I used:
- Green Limousine
- Orange Goldfish
- Sunshine Yellow

Have you had a chance to play with this collection yet? If so, we would love for you to share your projects in the Facebook Inspiration Group.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.
