Kaisercraft DT - Story Book Collection

Hello!!

Today I have lots of projects to share with you featuring the fabulous Story Book Collection by KAISERCRAFT.

This is such a gorgeously vintage range with a masculine feel. The perfect range for a bookworm like me. I just love the woodgrain paper!

‘Together’ Layout

I distressed and tore the edges of some of the papers on this layout which works really well with these designs. I used the brand new Nesting Stitched Squares Decorative Die to create a matte for my photo.

‘Happy Today’ Layout

For this layout I wanted to feature that fabulous black leather look patterned paper. It worked so well with the dark background of my photo. I also had a lot of strips of patterned paper from the paper pad on my desk leftover from other projects. I hate to waste anything so I layered lots of these strips underneath my photo to create a frame. I even added the leftover negative images from tabs that I had die cut. Waste not, want not. ;-)

How cool is that typewriter paper? I couldn’t wait to have a play with it!

Kraft + DT - Black & White

Hooray for the weekend!!

It's going to be a full on weekend for me with a trip to Carrick Hill planned as well as attending an all day photography course at the zoo!! I am hoping to pick up lots of tips and tricks to improve my photography skills.

Not only that but yesterday my hubby and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Yay for us!! :-)

Anyway, let's get to what we are really here for. The brand new AWESOME April challenge at KRAFT PLUS CHALLENGES.

Just look at that gorgeous inspiration!

Here's what I created.

'Capture Love' Layout

I used the most fabulous '+' sign stencil from FLUTTERBY DESIGNS on my background, lots of amazing chipboard from IMAGINARIUM DESIGNS and a triangle embellishment from CHARM'S CREATIONS.

How cute is that fussy cut stamped dog image?? That is a stamp created by the amazing Louise Nelson entitled 'Finneak' and inspired by my little dog Finn. Thanks so much for letting me use the image Louise!

Charms Creations DT - Girly Layouts

Happy Saturday!!

I am back to share a couple of sweet girly layouts I created using some gorgeous CHARM'S CREATIONS embellishments.

'Hello Love' Layout

I used the March sketch at Scrap The Girls for this layout with lots of black and gold and white which matched that stunning Feather Button Lollipop perfectly.

Here's a closer look.

I also used a DIY Terrific Tab that I altered with some Charcoal Kaisermist and a spritz of water.

'# happy' Layout

I have used bits and pieces from one of Charm's Mixed Kits including pink and cream 'XO' as well as a Terrific Tab. There are also some mini crochet doilies, a wood veneer girl and a kraft tag all from the same kit. I love these kits so much. It makes putting a layout together so easy. And in case you hadn't heard, there is a Mixed Kit Release coming up very soon. Awesome!!

Darkroom Door DT - Gone Postal ATC

Hello!!

I thought I had better blow the cobwebs off my blog and share my take on the Gone Postal ATC Challenge at DARKROOM DOOR.

I do love an artist trading card that is a little bit interactive. I had heaps of fun designing and making 12 of these cute little atc sized envelopes.

I had some of this gorgeous baker's twine in my stash in airmail colours which was an awesome find!

I used photochips to create mini postcards as well as some photobooth images that I distressed and paperclipped on the back. I created 'dog tags' using some Ranger adhesive foil sheets, a punch and some Tim Holtz Stencil Type letters.

Something Just For Me

Hi all!!

Believe it or not, I got myself a little caught up and slightly organized for the start of the year. Ahead on all of my DT stuff!! So not like me at all!! As a result, I have had the chance to play along with an awesome challenge over at Lulu Art called Colour Me Positive.

I am having an absolute ball, playing with all different sorts of mediums and exploring art journalling. The prompts have been so inspiring and fun. So far I am keeping up with the weekly prompts. I hope it continues. It's my reward for being organized.

Kaisercraft DT - Old Mac

Hello...hello...hello...hello...hellooo

I think there's an echo in here.

Today I have some projects to share featuring the brand new Old Mac Collection by KAISERCRAFT.

Old Mac is the most wonderful rustic farm style collection which is perfect for me as I live on a farm!! There is something for everyone from the gorgeous denim patterned paper to my personal favourite; the cowhide paper as well as heaps of cute animal die cuts in the Collectables.

“Today” Layout

I love this photo of my son playing in the dirt. He had seen Bear Grylls on tv and was practising his survival fire making skills with a couple of twigs. How perfect is the photo for the fabulous ‘dirt’ patterned paper?

I tore the barbed wire sticker from the sticker sheet into pieces and added that as a repetitive detail on my layout. Here’s a closer look.

“Be Happy” Layout

I chose this photo of my daughter feeding one of our fallow deer because her parka matched that lovely denim patterned paper perfectly! I started with a kraft cardstock base and added torn patterned paper strips at the top and bottom of the page. I created a watercolour effect with Kaisermists in Antique Gold and Olive in the centre before layering on squares of patterned paper from the Paper Pad.

How cute are the gum nuts and leaves using the Gum Nuts Decorative Die? I also used a decorative die to cut my title from kraft cardstock for a subtle look against the background.
