Here is this month’s Inspirational Challenge,  it’s a Mood Board Challenge.
Inspired by the July paper collection “BOTANICA”

What is a Mood Board? Well, it is an arrangement of images, materials or pieces of text intended to evoke a project of any particular style or concept.
Just create a layout using any part of the Inspirational Mood Board and with at least 80% Kaisercraft Products from any Kaisercraft paper collection.

Here's what I did with the challenge.

I just LOVE that woodgrain paper from the Botanica collection as well as the fabulous book edge specialty paper.

There are so many sweet die cuts in the Collectables pack too.

I love this photo of my boy William when he was about 3. He was trying to pick 'flowers' (sower sobs) for me but our puppy Merlin kept eating them from his hand. He was getting so stroppy with the pup and telling him to stop. So funny.

Gone Fishing

Hiya!

I am back today to share a card I created for DARKROOM DOOR using the brand new Fishing Net Background Stamp.

Check it out...

And here is what I created...

I used the crayon resist technique on the net and applied Distress Inks in various shades of blue over the top before splashing with water to create a water stained effect.

You can find a step by step tutorial and full list of materials on the Darkroom Door blog over HERE.

Thanks for checking out my card today.

Tree Bark

Hi!

Today I have two cards to share that I created for DARKROOM DOOR featuring the BRAND NEW Tree Bark Background Stamp.
I just love this new background stamp. It is so perfect for adding instant texture to any project.

Here's what I created with it.

I wanted to create a focal point on the background by just inking in the area where I knew my Wilderness Filmstrip image would be and then add some drips of mist for where my tumbling leaves would be. I cut up the sentiment to add to the tumbling leaf effect.

Here's another example of how I used the background stamp in a similar way.

Anyone that loved Seinfeld as I did will 'get' the sentiment I created on this one. :-)

Make sure you head over to the Darkroom Door blog over HERE to check out the step by step tutorial on how I created these cards.

Cards with Character

Happy Monday crafters!

Today I have a couple of cards to share with you that I created using some awesome CHARM'S CREATIONS super stars.

My darling daughter has been invited to a Minion party so with her permission I used a tag from a pair of Minion pyjamas I bought her recently to create a cute Minion card.

Those super stars are the perfect Minion yellow!

It pays to check all of the tags you cut from your kids' clothing before you throw them away!

My son will be turning 9 in 8 sleeps so I made him a card too. He is Dragons mad (we all are actually!) so it had to be a Toothless card for him. I found this Toothless image on Google (can't remember who posted it. Sorry!) and teamed it with a black and a grey super star.

I love these stars. They are the perfect size for card making.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Jungle Boogie

WOW!!

I am so late in posting this!! Time has gotten away from me this month. I can't believe June is almost over!

So I'm sure you have seen this month's challenge at KRAFT PLUS already but here is a peek:

Circles + animal print on kraft cardstock. Easy right? You can find all the details and heaps of inspiration from the creative team over HERE.

Here's what I created:

It surprised me when I was creating this that the first Color Shine I grabbed was the Blush one. Pink and jungle don't really seem like a match made in heaven. But just look at the photo that I snapped at Monarto Zoo on Christmas Day last year. It had to be pink!

I had a go at stamp carving too for the first time and made a circular giraffe print stamp.

And check out the gorgeous animal self print map marker made by the very talented Charmane Koch at CHARM'S CREATIONS.

I do hope you have had a chance to play along this month. Make sure you have a read of the RULES to make sure your gorgeous creation is eligible to be in the draw for a prize. I would hate to see you miss out!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by my little blog. :-)

Cards with charm

Hello!!

Today I have some cards to share with you using some gorgeous CHARMS CREATIONS embellishments.

First up is this vintage inspired card using a book paper superstar.

I have added a few little embellishments on top of the star for continuity with the rest of the card.

Next is a sweet card using a brand new DIY calico mini heart.

I altered my DIY heart using Dylusions Polished Jade Ink Spray diluted with water and then a little Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine over the top. And because I was too impatient to finish this project and move on to the next, I couldn't wait until it was dry properly before I stuck on my tiny crochet doily. Well you can see the result. The colour bled through. It is kind of a happy accident though as I like the effect it has given. Hey at least it co-ordinates perfectly, right?

Last but not least, I made this 'super' card for a friend of my kids who had a party on the weekend.

How perfect is that superstar for a Superman themed card? I spritzed it with a little Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and added the age and a wood veneer star on top.

I love the size of these mini Charms Creations. They are just so perfect for using on cards.

Oh and have you seen the news??

The deadline has been extended for the awesome challenges at Charms Creations. You now have until the end of the month to get your entries in for these...

Head over HERE to find out all the details.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

Kaisercraft Design Team Finalist Entry 2015 - 2016

Hi all!!

What a fun filled few days I have had playing with some gorgeous NOT YET RELEASED Kaisercraft papers!!

You are going to LOVE these two collections when they hit the stores. I think I may even need to play with them again. :-)

So prepare for my photo overload because I got BUSY with these beautiful papers.

HURRY UP SANTA LAYOUT

I LOVED this kraft text background paper so much that it was the first one I pulled out to play with. I had this cute photo of William from a while ago looking totally bored under our Christmas tree and the colours were just perfect.

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN LAYOUT

I kept this one fairly simple to keep the focus on the small photo. I created a watercolour effect with mist on the background paper and then added layers of gorgeous patterned papers as well as some fussy cut poinsettias. Those cute little kraft stars are cut from the patterned paper.

LOVE, JOY & PEACE CARD

I really wanted to create an embellishment from the patterned paper for this card so I cut out a lovely kraft coloured Christmas tree and wound some natural jute around the base. I then cut out some other sweet elements and added cute little twine bows to them as decorations for the tree. I created a grungy background with mist and by partially stamping a texture stamp.

GOOD TIDINGS CARD

Not sure if you can tell from this card but I LOVE fussy cutting. I find it relaxing and so am always happy to find papers that lend themselves to it. I couldn't resist making a sweet Christmas wreath by fussy cutting all of those lovely leaves.

And now for the second awesome collection.

THE BIKE THIEF LAYOUT

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for a while. It's one of my favourite photos. It's not perfectly in focus. I had to snap it quick. Plus I was laughing so hard that I couldn't hold the camera still. It's the expressions on their faces. Hayley is horrified that daddy is riding her bike and young William can't wipe the grin off his face. My hubby just looks slightly deranged. LOL

This was my first play with the new Kaisercraft Mists and I have to say that I LOVE them. This colour is called Turquoise. I created a watercolour effect with it by first coating the patterned paper with clear gesso. Once it was dry, I sprayed water on the page before adding the mist. I flicked droplets of water on top before drying it all off with a heat gun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EASEL CARD

This collection is just perfect for masculine style cards. I have gone grungy on this one with lots of layers and distressed edges. I may have worn out my Black Soot Distress Ink pad too. :-)

FATHER'S DAY EXPLOSION BOX

The only way to showcase this project is with a multitude of photos. Hang onto your hats people. Here they come. ;-)

This box was so much fun to make and will be a lovely keepsake for the kids to give to their daddy on fathers' day.

I hope you have found some inspiration with my projects today and are loving these soon to be released collections.

Now I just need to keep everything crossed that I make the final cut!!

Wish me luck.

Cheers
