Hello Darkroom Door fans!!
Today I have three projects to share with you featuring the fabulous NEW Buzzing Bees Stamp Set. I have created two cards and an art journal page with this super sweet stamp set.
'You're So Sweet' Card
Here's a peek at the fabulous stamp set. So many cute stamps to suit any project!
Instructions:
Step 1:
- Cut a piece of kraft cardstock measuring 13.5 cm x 21cm.
- Fold in half to form the card base.
Step 2:
- Cut a piece of smooth white cardstock measuring 10cm x 13cm.
- Ink up the Honeycomb Background Stamp with Wild Honey Distress Oxide and apply to this piece.
- Use an ink blending tool to add the same ink to the edges.
- Stick down on the card base.
Step 3:
- Cut another piece of smooth white cardstock measuring 8.5cm x 11.5cm.
- Add Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Distress Inks to a stamp from the Watery Washes Stamp Set.
- Spritz the stamp with water and apply to the cardstock piece.
- Repeat to create a lovely watery wash background.
- Use the dot stamp from the same stamp set to add some more interest to the background using the same technique.
- Dry with a heat gun or set aside to dry.
- Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the honeycomb stamp from the Buzzing Bees Stamp Set and apply on top of the inky background. (The bees will be covered up in Step 4)
- Stick this piece onto the card front using 3D foam.
Step 4:
- Stamp two bees from the stamp set on extra smooth white cardstock using the Jet Black ink.
- Paint the bees with Wild Honey and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks.
- Press the ink pads onto a craft sheet or acrylic block and then pick up the colour using a soft wet paintbrush or water brush pen.
- Dry with a heat gun before fussy cutting the bees.
- Add some messy orange thread to the card front and then stick down the bees using 3D foam. Make sure to stick the bees over the bee images that form part of the honeycomb stamp.
Step 5:
- Stamp one of the awesome sentiments from the stamp set, cut out and ink the edges.
- Add to the card using 3D foam.
Here's another card I created using the same inks but a slightly different style:
'Happy Bee Day' Card
Here I have used the Shadow 6 Up Frame Stamp as the background. I LOVE this frame stamp because it makes it so easy to layer sweet little elements in each square. Some of my favourite cards that I have created are using this particular frame stamp. So fun!
And now for something completely different:
'Follow Your Heart' Art Journal Page
I also created this whimsical art journal spread using lots of collage and ink.
I added to the whimsy by creating flowers using the Candles Eclectic Stamp combined with the Springtime Sprouts Line Art Stamp. I coloured the elements using Jane Davenport Brights Palette Watercolour Paints.
I stamped lots of Buzzing Bees all around the flowers using Jet Black Archival Ink and then coloured them using coloured pencils.
Darkroom Door products used:

Cheers
Belinda
