Happy Friday!!
I am running a little late with this blog post! Eek!! Life has been CRAZY the last couple of weeks with an endless onslaught of nasty viruses not to mention the hassle of having my beautiful car written off by the insurance company due to excessive hail damage. Fun times...NOT!!
It seems it is my turn to be struck down by the germs and as much as I feel like curling into a ball in my bed and not moving we have a BUSY weekend ahead with the kids' karate grading, cherry picking, teachers' gifts to make and hay raking and baling. Hubby will have to fit in some fence mending too after the latest storm caused half a pine tree to fall on the deer fence.
Anyhoo. I will be spending as much time as I can scrapping I think. It's the best cure, right?? :-)
So today I want to share my last layout featuring 49 and Market Heirloom Botanicals for The Scrapbook Store.
'Beautiful'
I went crazy with dimension and texture on this one and I am absolutely loving the Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in Canna Lily Burnt Orange. I discovered on previous layouts that this particular patterned paper is very porous and doesn't really allow for my usual technique with the sprays. In other words, it sucked that mist right up and didn't give me time to play with it. So this time I coated the background paper with Liquitex Clear Gesso to seal it. Problem solved!
I used a piece of muslin I had laying around (literally! I found it on the floor under my desk. LOL) to mop up the excess colour on my background to create a perfectly coordinated bit of texture. I draped it across the layout and stapled in place before adding all of the other layers. Oh and as much as I LOVED that beautiful Garden Vine, the green leaves just didn't co-ordinate with my layout so I painted them with the same Lindy's mist as the background using a soft paintbrush.
