Kaisercraft Design Team Finalist Entry 2015 - 2016

Hi all!!

What a fun filled few days I have had playing with some gorgeous NOT YET RELEASED Kaisercraft papers!!

You are going to LOVE these two collections when they hit the stores. I think I may even need to play with them again. :-)

So prepare for my photo overload because I got BUSY with these beautiful papers.

HURRY UP SANTA LAYOUT

I LOVED this kraft text background paper so much that it was the first one I pulled out to play with. I had this cute photo of William from a while ago looking totally bored under our Christmas tree and the colours were just perfect.

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN LAYOUT

I kept this one fairly simple to keep the focus on the small photo. I created a watercolour effect with mist on the background paper and then added layers of gorgeous patterned papers as well as some fussy cut poinsettias. Those cute little kraft stars are cut from the patterned paper.

LOVE, JOY & PEACE CARD

I really wanted to create an embellishment from the patterned paper for this card so I cut out a lovely kraft coloured Christmas tree and wound some natural jute around the base. I then cut out some other sweet elements and added cute little twine bows to them as decorations for the tree. I created a grungy background with mist and by partially stamping a texture stamp.

GOOD TIDINGS CARD

Not sure if you can tell from this card but I LOVE fussy cutting. I find it relaxing and so am always happy to find papers that lend themselves to it. I couldn't resist making a sweet Christmas wreath by fussy cutting all of those lovely leaves.

And now for the second awesome collection.

THE BIKE THIEF LAYOUT

I have been wanting to scrap this photo for a while. It's one of my favourite photos. It's not perfectly in focus. I had to snap it quick. Plus I was laughing so hard that I couldn't hold the camera still. It's the expressions on their faces. Hayley is horrified that daddy is riding her bike and young William can't wipe the grin off his face. My hubby just looks slightly deranged. LOL

This was my first play with the new Kaisercraft Mists and I have to say that I LOVE them. This colour is called Turquoise. I created a watercolour effect with it by first coating the patterned paper with clear gesso. Once it was dry, I sprayed water on the page before adding the mist. I flicked droplets of water on top before drying it all off with a heat gun.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EASEL CARD

This collection is just perfect for masculine style cards. I have gone grungy on this one with lots of layers and distressed edges. I may have worn out my Black Soot Distress Ink pad too. :-)

FATHER'S DAY EXPLOSION BOX

The only way to showcase this project is with a multitude of photos. Hang onto your hats people. Here they come. ;-)

This box was so much fun to make and will be a lovely keepsake for the kids to give to their daddy on fathers' day.

I hope you have found some inspiration with my projects today and are loving these soon to be released collections.

Now I just need to keep everything crossed that I make the final cut!!

Wish me luck.

Cheers
Belinda
